I keep telling myself that I'm not going to update until I get there and post pictures and such, but I just can't help myself. When God is speaking to me and I'm listening I have these "AHH I HAVE TO TELL EVERYONE" kind of moments, and that is exactly what happened to me last night/this morning haha. I decided to skip Hebrews 10 and move on to Hebrews 11 and MAN OH MAN was it awesome. I just fell in love with all of the stories about faith. I really wanted to share what I wrote in my journal last night and also share the verses/pieces of verses that really stuck out to me and impacted me last night. So, here goes:
Like what?! I'm moving?? This is so crazy. 10 years ago, 5 years ago, or even 1 year ago, I would've said "That's crazy" or "That's stupid." Well, former self, I am crazy stupid. I am going on a completely blind adventure and I'm okay with that. Life isn't about the stopping points. It's about the U-turns and the yield signs. It's about the bumper-to-bumper traffic and the detours. It's about the crazy amazing wonderful journey that God has me going on. There will be ups and downs as in any rollercoaster, but that's what it's about. You ride for the feeling of losing your stomach going down the steep hills. You ride for the adrenaline rush and the thrill it gives you that for a second you were flying or free falling. John Mayer says in one of his songs "Someday I'll fly. Someday I'll soar." Well, God has given me the wings to do just that.
Hebrews 11:
v. 3 -- ...what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
v. 9 -- By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country.
v. 12 -- And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
v. 13 -- ...still living by faith when they died... they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.
v. 14 -- People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own.
v. 16 -- Instead, they were longing for a better country - a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God for he has prepared a city for them.
v. 33 -- ...who shut the mouths of lions
v. 38 -- the world was not worthy of them...
Love,
Elizabeth
